Entire place smelled like smoke, checked into my room and there was hair in the drain, the couch had holes in it, the old thermostat in the wall was resting in a hole and fell out when it was touched. Had to deadbolt the door for the AC to work, made it feel very unsafe, especially overlooking the freeway. Ended up leaving within the first hour of our three day stay and booking another hotel because I was extremely uncomfortable with the place.

Charming French-style Hotel in Petaluma

Absolutely wonderful, vintage French-style hotel that is comfortable, hospitable and perfectly located near central Petaluma. The proprietor, Arthur, is so helpful and friendly, that you feel you have known him for years! The charming exterior courtyard setting has tables and chairs for chatting with friends, and the morning dining offerings included daily prepared crepes, fresh fruit, brewed coffee and assorted house-made pastries. Tres délicieux! Tres bonne!

I like everything about the hotel, the only thing that I didn't like is the area around, everything is dirty, alot of homeless people around, including one was sleeping in the hotel parking lot, I didn't feel secure and safe outside the hotel

stayed for overnight and for the price we paid it was good. the room was clean. also free parking on site is good. the only thing weve noticed, the bathroom is a little old. it would be nice if garbage cans have plastic in them. and the smell of the smoke in the entrance was strong (maybe air freshner will help). the pillows are small (suggestion need a better pillows for better comfort staying in your hotel. overall our stay was good.

Rough place

Unfortunately the hotel feels shady. One front desk attendant who seems to be mostly hidden away somewhere when you need help. The AC unit in my room was just a fan, no actual cool air blowing (despite it being set to max cool). The pillows are tiny and filled lumps of cotton. For $150/night in El Cerrito, I likely would have been more comfortable at a Motel 6 or Best Western.

The photos of this property are deceptive. Rooms are spacious, but the bed & pillows are uncomfortable, and the room & bathroom are older and not very clean. Would not stay here again.
