Tale of two rooms

A tale of two rooms, I haven't stayed here for a number of years as it is in my opinion over priced but with a meeting just down the road though I'd give it another try. First room was small, overlooking the car park, heating blasting away (centrally controlled so no option to turn off) air con not working. Hotel quickly sent someone to fix, twice, neither worked. Moved to another room which was fine. The basic rooms are small and very dark, not sure if this is meant to be atmospheric/romantic but is just gloomy in my opinion. Had dinner in the restaurant, again over priced and very dark ( I do understand that they want to highlight the twinkling lights from the city) but when you need your phone torch to read the menu perhaps a bit more lighting is needed! Sorry Montenotte wont be back.

Absolutely stunning hotel, super clean, luxury toiletries, so well staffed and everyone so friendly and helpful. Breakfast high quality local produce with buffet and a la carte options. Wellness facilities beautiful and really relaxing.

Fantastic experience, great staff amazing food. Very enjoyable 10/10 must stay. Everything about it is perfect location service and all. Was staying in the river suite had a Japanese bar with A excellent view of the river from the balcony. Got a 5 course meal on our second night and was outstanding.
