There was mildew on chairs in room as well as mildew smell . The breakfast was not so good ice in milk, toaster didn’t work they came and got it working, break was either frozen or just hard coffee was good waffles good staff was good just bad quality of the room

Weekend Stay

The front desk person was very nice and communicated the basic information well. However we weren't aware there is no housekeeping during the stay. The room was clean but one mattress smelled of urine. The a/c never quite cooled the room and it made a lot of noise. The mattresses were hard. I ended up on the sofa. We considered asking to be moved but it was Jeep weekend and everything was booked. I didn't really care for the breakfast but that's more personal preference. Overall I would not stay again. It was tolerable but not comfortable by any means.

Dark and dank. It seems like they tried to update, but what's that stank? Somethings wrong in these rooms. Musty moldy smell overwhelms the senses and somethings growing on tje lampshades...The AC cools, but fails to remove moisture from the air. I won't be back. Oh, and those Adirondack chairs sit right in front of the ac units blowing HOT. SO RELAXING!!!

Honestly the property was not worth what we paid. I wish I’d have spent a bit more for a nicer property. It was clean so I’ll give them that. Breakfast was not good, the pool and hot tub don’t open until 10am so I couldn’t do a morning swim. In a pinch this is ok but I probably won’t be back

Our room smelled like mold. Sheets didn’t smell fresh. Mold around bathtub and under the bath room sink. Rodent or insect droppings along the sides of the microwave. Lamps were rusted over and covered in dust.

Staff was great, location great. Entire property is suffering from deferred maintenance. Stained furniture, water stains on ceiling, paint chips, dings, etc throughout. You can tell it has been a very nice place, but it’s currently a little beat up and in need of reinvestment to bring it back to where it could be. Still a nice place, but condition a bit rough around the edges.

Plantation is a comfortable, reasonably priced property on the island. It is walkable to some things, and a short drive to others. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and would not hesitate to stay here again. This is not to say it is perfect - there are minor things that sometimes need to be fixed/improved - but overall it is a good pick. (For example, on our most recent stay, the desk chair was broken, the tv was set to some sort of visually impaired mode which spoke loudly every time we changed the channel or volume, and the breakfast had no fruit and some issues with crowds and stocking. Last time, the ice machine was intermittently working and we had to ask them to heat the hot tub, etc.)
