My family has traveled to Cortez for the past 10 years. It's tradition to swim and have family time before our sporting event the next day. We pick hotels based on their pool and hot tub accessibility. We were notified at check in that the pool and hot tub were closed for renovations. My children as well as I were very sad that we could not spend that time together. We would have appreciated notification about pool and hot tub renovations before booking and paying for the hotel. We did appriecate the front desk being so kind about the situation. Breakfast was amazing as well.

Pretty clean and seemed updated in terms of room decor. The guy checking us in did tell us to make sure we parked in the lighted area of the parking lot which was slightly concerning but we did and had no problems! There was little "Safety sheet" in the room giving advice on how to stay safe in and around the hotel like use all your door locks and don't open the door for anyone without verifying by calling the front desk first, check your surrounding before exiting your vehicle, etc. In the end there were no issues. It's just Cortez I guess! Decent breakfast. Pool was not functioning. Walmart nearby ..fast food nearby. Close to Mesa Verde.

The only reason we booked the property was for the pool & hot tub for the kids. Neither were working, apparently for many months. That should be updated on this site. Multiple smoke detectors in the hallway beeped 24/7 with guests scurrying out at night to try to disable. I told the front desk & nothing was done. TV didn’t work properly & beds were uncomfortable. I’d suggest staying in Durango.

Was convenient for our one night stay. Clean and cozy. We had a conjoined door which made it easy to hear guests next door. Our tv didn’t work at all and it took us a good hour to get the heater to work right.
