Great place to stay!

We had a great three day stay over spring break. The pool area is not heated, and it was cold. But my kids still went swimming. I enjoyed the fact that we were often the only people in the pool, so it was quiet. The location was perfect for us as we went to the Ark, the aquarium, and into Cincinnati. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausages, and either tator tots or french toast sticks, along with yogurt, granola, three cold cereals, a variety of breads to toast, oatmeal, and waffle mix to make yourself. There was also coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and a variety of milk (including oat milk). Breakfast was often busy, but they kept the food and coffee stocked. The beds were comfortable, the towels plush, the room clean.

There were good and not so good things. Although the staff was friendly, I was getting mixed/conflicting answers from the employees. The parking lot was filled with really bad potholes so it was hard to maneuver around them because parking was tight to begin with. When we called to confirm the reservation, I was told the pool heater was broken and then at check in, I was told it was fixed but would take a while to heat back up. I was frustrated because that was the main reason we picked it and there was no notification that it was down. If we knew, we would have selected another hotel. There was chewing gum on the pool floor that was the there every time we went to swim. There was a pretty big stain on the sofa and mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Overall there were a lot of things that seemed run down but pretty clean besides the gum. Breakfast was crowded and not enough seating. Also the tater tots were cold and gross even when they had just refilled them. One positive is the room size was great! For 2 adults and 4 kids, I didn’t feel cramped. The one tv was rough though because only the sofa or the beds could be watching , not both. There wasn’t anything major that would cause us to not come back, however I did feel like it was a little overpriced and nothing to make me wanna come back. It wasn’t bad for like a one or two night stay.

The breakfast bar was not well supplied,The staff did not keep the amount of food in sufficient quantity for the amount of people that were using the breakfast bar. The mattress was in poor condition.I didn’t like that the room was only serviced every other day and on the one day it was serviced the housekeeping staff didn’t restock the coffee and the glasses were not replaced with clean ones.

Poor customer service at check in

Very poor check in service. After driving 4 hours through thunderstorms and arriving at 1:30 a.m., front desk person had no reservation under my name. I showed her receipt, confirmation, etc. and she argued with me saying she isn't sure what to do. She then realized after 15 minutes that Hotels.com reservations are in a different system. Then, she said it would be another 15 minutes for her system to update. 30 minute check in at 1:30 a.m. is unacceptable.

It was very quiet and clean. The staffs were very kind and friendly. I have to print something urgent 4 am in the morning , and "Grace" was there in the front and helped me . She was angel to me. Thanks Grace!

Overall a Good Experience

The overall stay was fine. The staff was helpful and friendly. I forgot my razor and they supplied a complimentary one. Neither of the two treadmills worked, so that was disappointing. The biggest problem I had was that they charged for parking on top of the hotel stay. I feel this should be included in the price of the stay. Overall it was a good experience.

The bed was horrible, the couch was not any better. Had to pay for parking which was not mentioned when i reserved my room, if you are going to charge for parking, Fix the parking lot. I’ve e never had to pay for parking at a hotel that was not in a downtown setting. Ridiculous!! I had to pay $34 for parking on top of my already $500 hotel bill. Not a happy camper, not that it will make any difference.

The hotel was adequate except that one of the 2 rooms I booked the door lock quit working the 2nd day there & was discovered to need replacement which wd be after we left..inconvenient while still there & reqd staff to unlock door. On 2nd day morning after leaving hotel, my son-in-law went back to hotel to retrieve sm bracelet his son had lost in the room. We forgot reg was in my name for both rooms. He wasn't allowed access; he understood when explained. However, morning desk clerk started raising her voice & loudly making a scene in front of the entire lobby & breakfast eaters. He had said he understood why he cdn't access room but she had no reason to raise her voice at him because he was not arguing with her. He asked her to lower her voice and calm down. She was just making a scene to embarrass him for no reason. He was not arguing w her & accepted the situation. He said at minimum he did not want anyone to go into the room to clean or otherwise. I was so embarrassed for him when he got back with us and explained what had occurred because he is a fairly laid back person & himself rather quiet. This was so uncalled for. We let management know how rude she was. In fact even the maintenance person who came to try to fix door lock when we returned later had heard about what went on. Also, didn't realize they had paid parking. Unlikely we wd go back to this Hyatt.
