This property I give it 9 out of 10 only because they don’t tell you if you are flying in from Cancun international airport that it’s a task to get to this resort. This resort is 1 hour and 30 minutes from Cancun international airport. You also have to take a ferry to the island and another taxi from the ferry. Other than that it’s a very relaxing resort, it’s not a turn up resort and not many African Americans go here, so keep that in mind! Elizabeth was the best staff so nice and sweet please give her a raise, she was a waitress. The food was good everything else was amazing. I enjoyed my solo trip. Only issue was getting there. Once you know that then everything else was great. Also there’s not much entertainment.

The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean. Maid service was good. The food service was very poor. Restaurants were closed during days they were listed online as open. Service in the Restaurants was very slow. The food was OK. Definitely not fine dining as listed. It was terrible but certainly not on par with "fine dining" as advertised. The mixed drink quality definitely depedned on which bar tender was working. The drink mixes they used were syrupy sweet and not very good. They push buying into their "vacation club" which is very annoying. The room quality was good, beach was great, it definitely had a lot of potential. But we will likely not stay here again.

I would avoid the property; since Hyatt corporation purchased the Secerts properties the food quality and service service has gone substantially down hill, especially at this location. The building maintenance and cleanliness has maintained the old Secerts high standard. Expect upsale pressure the minute you step into the resort. Note if do plan in going to the resort, purchase the 'Perfered' guest package 'Before' arrival; after arrival its far too expensive. 2nd rent a car so you can affordable get into town. Poor service example, we went to a restaurant at 7pm when it opened, were told 45 minute wait, unless we purchased a 80 dollar bottles of 7 dollar wine, and finally were seated at 9pm, next to a bunch of loud drunk belligerent guests that should have been removed from the restaurant. Lastly, the coupon thing secrets does has gotten really useless.

The property and location is nice. The beach access is great. The only complaint is they are too pushy to do the vacation club 90 minute “talk” they say to do it no strings and no worries if you say no but at the end of that presentation they treat you like trash because you said no to their 70k vacation package. Restaurants are always busy about an hour wait. The food is not great at the resort so if you’re looking for a great resort with good food options this is not it! Pool bars close early! There was no nightlife at this resort I will definitely go back to Cozumel but will try a different resort

The beach with crystal clear water and snorkeling was perfect. The room 921 had direct view to the beach. We were staying in preferred guests room and beach area. Room was clean, however the shower handle was coming of easily when turned on and off. The room was cleaned daily, but bar was not updated every day??? Even if we called and asked to bring more water and soda and leaving couple dollars for them, nobody would respond. The food in restaurants was okay, though, i would want their (market place) to have more choices of fresh vegetables and fruits. I would say the choices of food were poor there. You need to show up to buffet right after opening because later the day the food gets stale. There are couple more restaurants for example seafood Oceania (food was okay there) another Windows (also okay), and French Bordo restaurant. This one we went our last night and next day i had food poisoning, And we didn't have a good experience with the serving personnel there. So, it seems that we liked something and we didn't. We really loved our servers from Market Place Caffe: Rosana, Kenia, Ricardo, Alberto, Gaspar and Elizabeth. Specifically Rosana and boys made my husbands birthday special by having little cupcake with candle and birthday song. And last day when i had food poisoning Rosana was making sure that i will have couple of Ginger ale cans and crackers for my road to the airport. We did appreciate this Also there was one helpful lady at the beach with walky talkie

Disappointing Stay – Will Not Return Our stay at Secrets Aura Cozumel was extremely disappointing. Staff were consistently rude, especially when ordering food or drinks. At breakfast, I told our server Ronnie I’m allergic to lactose and asked for fruit without yogurt. He brought a plate with yogurt anyway and instead of getting a new one, he just swapped it with someone else’s plate at the table—completely careless and unhygienic. Service throughout the resort was poor, with staff often having bad attitudes and seeming annoyed by simple requests. On our second night, the resort lost power at 6 PM. We had no water or air conditioning until 2 AM. When I asked front desk supervisor Pablo for an update, he told me I had to “deal with it” and didn’t owe me any explanation—completely unprofessional. The resort clearly lacks proper training in customer service and hospitality. After this experience, I will never stay at Secrets Aura again, and I’ve lost confidence in the Hyatt brand overall—which is disappointing considering we’ve stayed at over 15 Hyatt properties in the last five years. Avoid this resort.

Do not stay here!!!! I read bad reviews and thought people were exaggerating. They were not. My room was falling apart. They moved me after my safe, my room smelled like mold and was wet, fridge leaked, no inside lock because it was broken. It took 8 hours for them to move me after showing me a new room because they said maintenance had to check everything. Well, when i showered, it leaked all over the bathroom and the hallway by the door. I fell and then was asked if I had the shower on too high. Hours went by and they never sent maintenance or house keeping. I really hurt myself and no one checked on me. No one helped. I'd like to know how mainteance did any checking. The food is bland. Then only saving graces was a concierge named Moises that helped with the room move and when I had an eye infection. Another concierge, Ricardo was terrible and the one that did nothing for me when I fell other than sending a medic. He didn't offer to help with room service. I asked to have a manager call mutliple times and no one called. I have stayed in crappy places in my life out of necessity, but nothing has ever been this bad. I have stayed in a tent in the jungle in Costa Rica and it was far better than this place. I was not discounted for all my trouble. Nothing was done. Nothing was offered for my injury. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I will be filing a formal complaint with Hyatt and asking for them to refund my unlimited vacation club membership.

After the club preferred upgrades we see more benefits and options. Safe and great security. Beautiful sunsets at this adults-only hotel. Very close to the beach with a handful of restaurants to choose from although the food is not that great. Noisy and faulty A/C splitter unit. Unfortunately, we also experienced a nasty BLACKOUT, NO WATER, and NO DINER on Sunday 07/13/2025. No apologies were offered.
