Nicole, the receptionist / manager was very helpful in every way. The fact that she spoke English was also helpful because my Portuguese is still limited. The breakfast was very good and the furniture and environment reflected well in the hotel's historical restoration. The room I had was spacious and also the bathroom. I really can't think of anything negative except for the bathroom cold water faucet took effort to close all the way and leaked a little bit. The windows took some effort to close but that's understandable because they are original.

The place has a mix decor bringing both history and trendiness to it. it gives you a vibe of a bohemian hotel that has lived its live fully. every collaborator was extremely helpful and super nice! its definitely a hidden gem you must try!

A beautifully restored hotel
A beautifully restored hotel in the historic center- we had a wonderful room at the front- it was huge. The staff were very welcoming on our arrival and did all they could to make our stay comfortable. The one draw back with this hotel is that there are not many bars and restaurants open in the surrounding area in the evenings, so we had a 20 minute walk to get anything after 6 pm.

Stayed here to do the Beer Train & loved it. Great breakfast, fireplace and whisky in the lobby at night. Recommend staying here. Good location. Can walk to pedestrian shopping.

The hotel is old, although a bit classical. The rooms have paper thin walls: you can hear toilets flushing and conversations from other rooms and floors. The lights in the hallways re controlled by electric eyes which have very long delays, so stepping out of the elevator at tyour floor means waiting 5 seconds until the hallway lights turn on in a pitch dark hallway: extremely creepy. Staff doesn't speak a word of English.
