This is a solid 2.5-3 star property. The staff are very friendly and do what they can to elevate guest stays. Our room was dated and although it seemed as 'clean as possible' - a musty smell remained for our entire visit. Carpet needs to be replaced and the bathroom needs to be updated. The location is perfect for events at the American Airlines Center but there isn't much else in the area to do.

Please don't throw a party in a motel
There was a party in the room across that hall the last night that went on until 4 am. About every 20 to 30 minutes there would be loud noises that would wake me up. I heard a man telling the ladies to go to bed at 3:24. I had a long drive home the next day and the lack of sleep was frustrating.

Hotel was in need of updates and repair but overall it was as expected for the price. Room was only freshened once over 4 days when we were there and needed to find housekeeping for more towels etc. It was odd that there was no dish cloth or towel considering there was a full kitchen. Check in was strange in that I was handed my room keys and had no idea where to go, what time breakfast was, etc. Expedia via Hyatt House had sent those details earlier so I was able to retrieve them. Breakfast was great each morning. Walking distance to a grocery store, 7-eleven and CVS. Excellent proximity to the American Airlines Centre. Lyfts/Ubers were very fast (within minutes). The uptown area is absolutely beautiful and we felt very safe. Overall the stay was good and what we expected.
