The most relaxing resort stay I ever had in the Caribbean. No noise. Jungle setting was unique. Rooms (bungalow) was awesome experience. Staff was not in your face all the time and was there only when you wanted or needed them. Swim up bar was just the right size and setting for us. Kudos. I try all kinds of resorts but I may even be back here sooner rather than later.

The food and scenery were great, it was a very relaxing scene with some entertainment such as performances and beach parties/disco.

The overall hotel is nice and clean. However, the overall amenities are limited. There are no amenities for teens and young adults. Unfortunately due to heavy winds we did not get to try the water sport activities. The pools were nice however, the adult pool is in the center which may tricky if you have small children. Lastly having stayed at several other hotels on the island the food here was less than desirable. Seafood was limited especially in the buffet.

The buffets were decent. The Italian restaurant was by far the best. The rooms were small and we saw numerous roaches which made us all uncomfortable. Our toilet did not always flush and that was annoying. The staff seemed rigid and strict specifically the desk staff. The key cards were sometimes hard to keep track of due to you having to use one to use room electricity. Once we locked both keys in our room and had to get a 3rd key. Upon check out the desk clerk was like a drill sergeant asking about keys for both rooms. They were not always the nicest. The pools were nice and the entertainment team was great. Very friendly. We have stayed at other properties where room service was 24 hours and there were snack stations in various locations but the the Riu lacked in this department. Honestly, we will probably not choose this chain again for our yearly girls trip.

The atmosphere was great but the house keeping staff was lack luster when it came to cleaning. Would go again provided the the one issue had is resolved.
