Friendly staff. New beds. But the carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in ages. Seems like it might be an acquired property for Best Western. Dressed up a bit but truly needs more work. I wouldn't go barefoot and after examining the floor and having trouble getting into my room from an exterior door, I left after only staying for an hour. Couldn't chance my dog finding something forgotten on that nasty carpet.

Very nice. They were undergoing renovations, so a little dusty. Staff was very cordial. We stayed several days. it was a central location to many of the attractions in the area all around the Black Hills. Would stay again.

My son had a baseball tournament in spearfish this weekend (we are from North Dakota) and this hotel had a very good breakfast!!! Also, they had very clean rooms. We enjoyed our stay here!

Clean up the mess!

Overall not a bad experience. Our main complaint is that we were directed to a rear entrance to access our room, which was the correct entrance. However, the stairs and hallway leading all the way to our room were a mess. The hotel was obviously upgrading a few rooms, but it was after hours and all the construction mess should have been cleaned up before guests arrived after hours. We did alert the front desk clerk, who seemed to be the only person on staff, and he apologized for the issue. We accessed our room by other means that evening, but upon checking out all the mess from the prior evening was still there.

This is a great hotel. I am very picky about hotels. This is not an overly fancy hotel, but it was very clean! The breakfast was good, and the staff was professional and friendly. The location was convenient for walking downtown, too.
