The room and common areas were cool because they reminded me of what a fine hotel back in the late 1800s might have looked like. The only real problem was not enough hot water and pressure in the shower. But it is an old building so it gets a pass. It’s also too bad that every hotel in Deadwood has to have slot machines in their lobbies.

Nice old hotel with plenty of local history attached. On main street close to all shops and restaurants. Was there for four nights and in that time the room was not serviced. Could have done with a towel change. This was the only downer.

Staff was very friendly and the restaurant prices were reasonable. The location was right on Main Street, so very convenient. Please note, even if you book with a third party, such as Expedia, the charge strangely comes from the Bullock Hotel and not Expedia. The hotel also adds an additional $5 charge for “Historical maintenance”.

MId road trip

We arrived early and, as expected, our room wasn't ready. Unfortunately the hotel has nowhere to store luggage so we had to leave it in our vehicle on a public car park which isn't ideal. At the time of writing, August 2025, the car park is free to guests as the hotel car part is under renovation, Check in was smooth and the room was large and clean. Staying in such an historic hotel while in Deadwood was fantastic.

This property and staff were awesome!! I really enjoyed my stay there because of its historical past, but also because of the location to the Number 10 Saloon, Wild Bill Bar, and the other historical sites along Main Street and on Mount Moriah! My only regret is that I didn’t reserve my room for 2 nights!

Nice place to stay in Deadwood SD!

The hotel was old of course and there was a sign by the check-in counter that confirmed “paranormal activities”in the hotel. I found that pretty cool. The food was wonderful, the bed so comfy. Will stay there again for sure!

The sheets had clearly not been changed after the previous guest. The front desk worker was disinterested in waiting on me and not helpful at all. The second attendant that did finally help me was nicer, but kept walking away to assist gamblers in the casino while we waited.
