Terrible Hilton Garden Inn stay in Delhi
The start of my stay was full of disappointment and so was my departure from the hotel! My suitcase didn’t arrive and was delivered to the hotel 16 hours after my arrival. Upon inquiry with multiple reception staff, I was told thatcher had not received my luggage, which resulted in anxiety and costs to purchase necessary clothing from the mall. An expense that will not be borne by neither the airline nor by my travel insurance. The last night of my stay I was ill throughout the night. My niece, who had been visiting me unhindered by staff all week several times daily during my week’s stay, came by to assist in packing my suitcase. Upon arrival she was asked to present an id card which she had neglected to carry and therefore was not allowed to come to my room. She called me and I called the reception from the room phone, spoke to Aladdin receptionist who promised to allow her. In a few minutes my niece called again to say that now there was a manly assistant at reception was not allowing her after all. I spoke to him and explained that I wasn’t well and to allow her please. He refused and would not even send a staff member along with her to ensure security and that she was only coming up to my room, not wandering in the hotel. I had to dress and come down to confront him and take her up with me. At no point during this 15 min phone and personal exchange was this person considerate of my health condition, a hotel guest of age 75 years! Shameful!
