atrocious parking

Wonderful property. Love the overall design and esthetics. The front desk were all helpful. HOWEVER....the parking truly undermines the entire experience. It starts with there being NO short term parking for simple check in (or at least no signage/acknowledgement of such). Once parked, in adjacent 30 min retail parking, upon check in I learn I have 3 options. Valet at $49 a day, University parking at $25 a day but NO in and out privileges or free parking....wait for it....6 blocks away. An 11 minute walk per google maps. That ain't convenient.....and that doesn't even include snowy conditions. Unfortunately, parking is literally the first thing I do when I get to a property so I started off on the wrong foot and the rest of the stay, as wonderful as it was, never quite made up for it.

Everything amazing except the parking, which was 2 blocks away. If you dont mind walking, or paying the daily valet, which is expensive, its ok.

After we ordered food to the room, the staff wouldnt allow the food to come to the room. The parking was terrible. Had to walk 3 blocks in freezing temperatures with a baby and young children. Manager does not reply to messages

The Benson is a lovely hotel. The room was clean and very nicely appointed. We enjoyed the comfortable chairs and table in the room for dining at, and the bed was also very comfortable. The staff at the bar downstairs were very friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed the art throughout the lobby. It is a very nice atmosphere. The only issue we had was with the parking. Valet parking is available at a high cost per night ($30 if I remember correctly) and the only "free" option was a lot that was vaguely gestured to by the desk staff, that I was unable to find. I ended up parking in a pay lot about a 5 minute walk away as I could not find the free lot that they mentioned.

Staff was unhelpful, could not describe where to park when I arrived and there is nowhere to be pull over and not cause a traffic incident. Eventually they informed me there is no where for guests to park outside of the ‘valet’ for $35/day. The WiFi also went out at 9pm and no one fixed it until the next day

The lobby was beautiful and clean. The food at the restaurant was unique and tasted amazing. The room was clean and decorating beautifully. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were comfy (I appreciate that). I loved everything!!
