Checked in late after a long delayed flight. Self parked in garage right beside hotel. Check in was quick and painless. Got in room and lights would not come on. Cllaed front desk and they came up in 5 to 10 mins to check. They had to go and flip the breaker. Then they came back and the lights worked. Shower did not have alot of water pressure. Beds were too soft for my liking. Could not get Ac to get colder even after turing it down. Overall hotel is older, but clean and nice. Guess we were just tired from the trip and then the light issue left a bad taste.

The only disappointment was regarding the Speakeasy. The hotel website did not clarify that seating was very limited to not available at all. The was no open bar and only a handful of tables that required advance reservations. We had planned our trip and told our guests that the Speakeasy was our central meeting place and then none of us could get in. If you need an open bar to meet friends this is the wrong place. We should have stayed somewhere else.

Great stay!

Very pretty hotel! Many beautiful details and everyone was very friendly. Very spacious room and ambience was wonderful. *our only complaints, though minor- bed was not the most comfortable (but still fine) and no fan in the bathroom.

Downtown hotel

Really nice historic hotel in downtown. Good value for the price. On a quiet street with not much to walk around and do. Carpet was dingy and stained. Housekeeping showed up once the 3 nights we were there to see if we needed anything. It wasn’t explained to us at check in that we wouldn’t get service unless asked for so wondered where they were all weekend. My daughter thought the front desk person was rude but I just thought he was ok and just disinterested. Overall, I would stay there again.

Bed bug on pillow

Rooms were very comfortable- however, our first night there we had a bug on the pillow. It looked like a bed bug. They asked for a copy of my picture and switched our room. The next day, they told me that it wasn’t a bed bug. The worst part was the way they handled it. They were very defensive about it - and practically acted like I had planted the bug on the bed! Here is the bug that was on our pillow and here is a picture of one of my bites (on my leg).
