1)When I arrived, I was greeted nicely. But then when I gave my card info to pay, I was told they needed my card pin, which that's the first time I've ever had to do with any reservations through Expedia at any other hotels before. I put my pin in on Aug 25, 2025, the first day of my stay. On the morning of Aug 26, 2025 I got a call from my banks fraud alert asking me if I tried to make a purchase of $99.99 for Crown Coins Casino (online gaming). I told the fraud alert agent that I do not play any online casino games, never have, never will The agent then told me that it happened twice. Not to worry because both purchases were denied. So this makes me very skeptical now of giving my pin out when paying for a room. I'm bring it to your attention. It's not right to try to take any extra client funds for any reason except for paying for the room. 2) When I made the reservation, I thought I was getting a Walkin Mobility Shower, not crawl in. I'm in a locked straight knee brace. I can only walk into, not step into a tub/shower combo. 3) When I entered the room. It smelled a bit musty, like it had not been used in a while. I checked the a/c filter which was broken and was filthy dirty. So I cleaned it by running it under the shower head. 4)There was a lot of doors slamming all night long which made it very hard to fall asleep. I would say that this experience at the Super 8 Hotel in Clive, IA will be the only time I stay. To much noise for someone trying to get any decent rest.

I really thought this was a nice hotel for a Super 8. The staff were friendly and really made the stay enjoyable. I didn’t feel safe when pulling up and seeing a police car sitting in the parking lot, made me wonder what they were looking for. The breakfast choices were very limited and the waffle batter wasn’t working. I ended up eating toast only for breakfast. But, for the price it was definitely worth the stay and I would recommend.

We weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised. Sam, the young man who checked us in was very pleasant to talk to and very thorough in getting the job done. I, unfortunately, left my cell phone behind; and when we called, after realizing it was missing, he told me they had my cell phone at the front desk.

Comfortable beds

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. It smelled a bit like mildew and the room was humid. The bedding and towels were clean, but the shower curtain also smelled like mildew. Overall, the experience was fine and the staff was friendly.

The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly! Our room was not clean. There were hairs on the sheets and on the towels in the bathroom. There was still wome small trash items on the floor and also food crumbs under tbe phone on the nightstand. The rooms were pretty musty and the beds were fair but have a metal frame and one of them sounded like hitting a drum every time we turned over. Breakfast was very light as far as options, i have a feeling they were maybe short handed because the same giy working at night was rushing in with mow foods items from the store. I feel the proprty could use a little TLC.

avoid at all costs

our room had a nasty mildew/mold stench, flies, cigarette burns in the sheets and everything was sticky. i highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay
