UNHAPPY STAY

Our stay was ok but there were issues. The floors in the kitchen and bath were sticky, the swimming pool was out of service, the tv service was not good during football season. There should be all sports apps on the tv like the SEC app and the abc channel was never showing what the guide said. We even checked out a day early because we couldn't watch all sports channels. We had to insert our door key in a slot to get power to use the lights in the room which took forever to figure out that was what we were suppose to do.

The room wasn't very clean. The restroom walls and back of the door had stuff all over it. I switched to this hotel for the splash pad but that and the pool were down. Our tv wouldn't work, we called twice to get it resolved. It would turn on but no other channel besides the weather channel would work. They would say someone would be sent to help but both times we waited over an hour. After the second time we just decided to venture out for the day. Overall it was okay, I wouldnt stay here again.

I loved this property. The room was huge and being on the fifth floor, it had a beautiful overlook of the ocean. It lost points due to the firepit outside not working and the shower had a leak. They served breakfast every day, which wasn't fantastic, but there were a lot of options and it was free, so that's cool.

Was overall a good stay, however, the kiddie pool area didn’t seem to be working and the spa was luke warm and its waterfall wasn’t working. They recently changed their breakfast and it didn’t include waffles like most other hotels.

Destin Labor Day weekend

When we arrived we waited over 45mins to get checked in no one was at the front desk.The television in our original room did not work had to go down to front desk. Attend came up with me tried fixing it however it still wasn’t resolved, she put is in another room. The breakfast was not kid friendly has no waffle or pancakes. To get things for the room housekeeping would come like 30 mins or more after being called, usually resulting in going down to the front desk. The laundry was a very descent price to wash and dry. The partial ocean view is worth it has you have other hotel blocking the view. The A/C works vey good.

We really enjoyed our stay at Homewood Suites in Destin and look forward to returning with our Golden Retriever. One of only a few properties that allow bigger dogs. It is located in a very convenient area. Within walking distance of Joe's Crab Shack and Bubba Gump's. A little bit further walk is The Back Porch and a public beach access. The Breakfast Buffet was hot and had a great variety. Jacquita took pride in keeping the area clean and well-stocked. The only slight drawback was the shower. Struggled to get the kind of water pressure we are used to. The handheld wand was barely a soft sprinkle. We also noticed that we did not have an in-room safe unless we somehow missed it. If that is important to you, you may want to verify before booking. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay and we look forward to visiting again.

The location of the hotel was great—really close to the beach, which was super convenient. The hotel itself felt very new and well-kept. I was impressed with the condition of the rooms and common areas, and the laundry service and pool were both excellent. The gym was a highlight for my military fiance —he was really happy with the equipment and setup. Unfortunately, the spa wasn’t working when we tried to use it which was a bit of a letdown. As a European, I found the breakfast below average. It seemed like a typical American-style breakfast, which might be fine for others, but it didn’t meet my expectations. We didn’t eat there much and ended up going elsewhere for breakfast most days. Overall though, considering the price and the services offered, it was a very good stay. I’d definitely recommend it.
