The hotel was under construction which I was unaware of when booking the room. There was constant hammering and saw noise from 8am to 4pm. The swimming pool and hot tub were unavailable. The halls and elevator were very dirty from the construction. The room was clean but there wasn't a fan in the bathroom and no guide for the television

Hotel under construction. We were rudely awoken by construction in the room above us at 730 on Sunday morning! Pool was also closed due to renovation! No mention of this at time of booking!

The staff here is unfriendly, and the service is terrible. There is a coffee machine and cups, but they didn’t even provide water bottles. How can I supposed to make coffee without water? Useless. The towels are also dirty. This hotel doesn’t even deserve one star. Very, very, very bad.

I booked this hotel specifically for location, two adjoining rooms, and jacuzzi/ pool. We arrived to be notified that renovation is taking place so pool area closed. They offered lifetime fitness pass, but the goal was for our family to stay inside where it was warm, play board games and go to pool. They offered us to cancel our reservation, but it was late and freezing outside. Them construction started Saturday morning which seemed right out our window and above us. Good thing they didn’t start until 8am. I’m glad they are renovating, but there was no mention on hotels.com of this NOR when I spoke with the hotels front desk twice before arriving. Just would have liked to know ahead of time so I had opportunity to make new reservations.

Not sure where all the good reviews came from, as this hotel is clearly under new mgmt since then. Completely not what I expected as a woman traveling alone. Had a 8.8/10 at time of booking. Arrived to a nearly empty parking lot. Poorly lit signs. Poorly lit parking lot. Maintenance men lingering around. No other guests seen anywhere. Checked in. More maintenance men on my floor. Still no guests. Snaked my way down hallways of rooms being renovated. Room itself was very dated. But the kicker is that the window was covered in plastic with scaffolding right outside. Left me feeling very isolated and claustrophobic having seen no other guests and feeling tucked away deep in the hotel. Didn’t feel safe. Left to stay elsewhere. Actually got a little lost trying to navigate off the floor. Had to maneuver around carts and work equipment. Requested a refund as this hotel was not as described whatsoever. Hotel refused to issue a refund. Probably won’t use Expedia again either as they didn’t seem to care that I left bc of safety concerns.

Steer clear from this hotel
Beware! This hotel does not look like the pictures. It is currently under construction, which is not noted during booking, nor was anything mentioned during check in. I was put in an exterior room where most of the construction is happening. The crew began around 8am outside and were extremely loud, they then moved to the room above us and began beating on the ceiling, sawing and what sounded like a jack hammer. Unacceptable. At about 1am a fight in the room below went on for about 40 minutes. The elevator was beat to hell. The shower/tub was not cleaned. This is more like a neighborhood hotel than a place for out of towners on business or leisure.

This hotel is nothing like the pictures. It’s under renovations which we were not told about. The elevators were filthy and carpet. The lobby , rooms and restaurant looks nothing like the pictures . There was no pool as advertised. . The attendant Anna was wonderful very helpful. She told us we could cancel if we wanted because of the mess. But we could not since we came from out of town to shop and then would have to go find another hotel. This wasn’t very convenient for us. We spoke to people from London Ontario who book on the phone and they were not told anything about it. Very disappointing! We hope next year will be better. A very upset group from Windsor Ontario. Renovations
I LOVE Troy Inn & Suites, first and foremost. This is my forth stay. However, the renovations are a problem. I had flight delays and didn't check in until 3am. I heard some type of clanging noise when I got to my room. Clearly no one was working at 3am and I assumed it was plumbing or something. The second night was quiet, but in the hallways I could feel cold air coming from outside due to the renovations. My room itself and staff was awesome as usual. The gym and breakfast was shut down due to renovations. They have gym passes for a place down the street but I just wasn't going out of my way to workout. Hopefully, the renovations will be done before my next trip. I thought the hotel was already nice but now it will be absolutely amazing! Can't wait!
