Love love love the Shinola Hotel. We stayed for two nights last weekend and it was an unbelievable experience. The atmosphere is very cool and the staff is great, although we did have to wait quite a while to be served in the living room bar because I think there was a big crowd in the restaurant. The room is amazing, very well appointed and spacious, with a great view, comfy bed and a huge bathroom. I would suggest another trash can in the bathroom as the only one was in the toilet and wasn’t always convenient. We loved the area as it was very walkable with lots of bars and restaurants. Breakfast at San Morrello was outstanding and I would have loved to eat there for dinner but there wasn’t enough time! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we can’t wait to come Back!

Perfect, perfect, perfect.

We have stayed here a couple of times now and Shinola has turned into our favorite hotel in North America. This last trip is now the standard that we will use to examine all hotels moving forward. Tonya was world class. I would hire her for any role, anywhere. She should be president. It was my husband's birthday and she could not have done more to make us feel warm and welcome at this beautiful hotel. Exceptional service at an exceptional hotel is definitely something to celebrate. Tonya deserves that. So does Terrence. Terrence is friendly and quick. A pillar of consistency and goodness. He deserves awards. The rooms at the hotel are well-crafted and the adjoining retail store is great- and the service brings it to the very top levels. A million stars.

Nice hotel, but far from a 5 star experience

Very nice hotel with decent service, but misses the mark of a true 4 or 5 star destination. Stayed here 4 nights to attend an event and a wedding. Good: Staff was very nice and accommodating. Allowed us an early check in. The room was nice and well laid out. Hotel property was nice and kept clean. Bad: Room was only cleaned 1 time in 5 days despite requests (unacceptable for a $700/ night room). No room service. Ordered food from San Morello, received a text that order was ready, and still had to wait 10 minutes upon arrival. Valet was very unorganized and chaotic.

My wife and I spent our anniversary at Shinola. The staff went above and beyond to make our time there special. We received champagne upon check-in. We also were brought a complementary bottle of wine! We also realized we wanted a room with a tub and when we inquired about the front desk helped us get an awesome room with an incredible view of Woodward and a tub. This was our 3rd stay at Shinola and we loved every second!
