Spent one night prior to embarking on a cruise. Great location if cruising. Worth it to walk up the hill to visit the castle and tunnels. The hotel is a bit cramped, which is par for the UK and Europe. The room was nice, spacious, clean and comfortable. Room was quiet which was a nice surprise. Overall, a pleasant experience.

I can’t say enough. It’s got Old English Charm, with the modern conveniences. The place smells like aromatherapy, and all soaps and shampoos provided are aromatherapy. The smell, cleanliness and decor is pure relaxation.

This was our second stay at the hotel and it was pleasant and nice as always. It is located right on the Marina so very easy to access walks along the north downs towards Folkestone, White cliffs, and Sandwich. Our room was clean with a nice balcony view to the channel. Room service and staff were cordial and provided very insightful tips for going around the town. The restaurant and the bar at the hotel serve good food, although a bit premium on rates but it adds to a relaxing holidays.

The only complaint that I had was our rooms floor was not flat. There was at least a 3” difference from the back wall to the entrance. This doesn’t sound like much but walking around in the bedroom and bath, it was uncomfortable walking around, threw off balance.

I waited in line for check in, and when I was called, as I was walking up the guy walked away into another room. I stood there long enough to think he wasn’t coming back and started to leave when he came back around the corner to check me in. He wasn’t very friendly, seemed unhappy I hadn’t checked in online. I had to ask for a 2nd key card and wasn’t given any information about breakfast (which I had to ask for later). While a bumpy start, the rest of the stay was delightful, quiet and comfortable, wonderful old place to stay in!!
