Self check-in……..not a fan.

Booked a one night stay with my adult son and daughter to attend a show at the Bord Gais theatre. We had limited time from check-in till the show started so we didn’t want any delays to give us time to grab a bite before the show. However when we arrived at the hotel I was directed to a self check-in machine that I was unfamiliar with and had a lot of sections to fill in, (even though there were 2 receptionists at the desk and no one else waiting to check-in). This took way more time than a check-in would, or should, normally take, putting us under pressure…………not a great start to our evening. The restaurant, bar and breakfast staff were lovely as was the food. Rooms very nice and comfy beds but we were roasting with the heat of the room and there was no air conditioning so not a great sleep. There was a desk-top electric fan left in the room but there was 3 of us so we had to pick which of us got the benefit of it.

The lady at reception, Mari, was efficient and really helpful, and took the time to guide us about how to catch buses and where to buy the leaf travel tickets . The hotel has no in-house parking and finding the discount public car park was very difficult as no map or coordinates were available .

Lovely hotel. In middle of Reno’s so a bit inconvenient but staff were super accommodating and friendly. Walkable to bus station, restaurants and tourist attractions. Pubs around corner were great.

Thr beds were comfortable and the buffet breakfast was lovely with a big choice. The pool was an added advantage. The hotel was convenient for transport and getting to places by walking. It was a shame we couldnt use the balconies.

We actually choose this hotel because it has a pool. After touring almost the entire Republic of Ireland, I thought my granddaughters would like it. THEY DID! And the breakfast buffet was amazing!
