The hostel is ideally situated only a short walk away from Temple Bar district. There are lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and there's a major chain grocery store only a few steps away. The staff are always present, very helpful, and very friendly. The facilities are also very clean and very well maintained. The only downsides are:
- No communal kitchen and they do not allow outside food on the premises (although apparently this is tolerated to a certain degree), which is very inconvenient since it forces you to buy food from the bar or the cafeteria within the hostel itself.
- The shared showers and toilets are in the basement, and there are no mirrors or plug outlets there, which makes it inconvenient for women to do their hair/makeup in those areas. There was a bathroom with a mirror in the room I stayed in, but this was not practical for late showers / hair blow drying because of the noise and disturbance of the other room guests in the room.
