We have stayed at American Inn many times over the last decade. The room was adequate, the TV remote was a two remote process that did not work-one channel only viewable. The breakfast bar was the poorest they had ever served over the years. Only starches and cereal available. Prior times there were protein options like yogurt, boiled eggs, and sausage as well as further breakfast pastries. Somewhat disappointed this visit.

Decent place to sleep

So the hotel itself is in good shape but the room was very mismatched for furniture and colors and certain pieces of furniture like lamps and lights seem to be missing? The bed was also hard on one side and soft of the other. So if that sort of thing bothers you. Also the TV set up in the room was a bit odd. The staff are nice enough folks and they keep the place up well. The property was clean and well kept. The breakfast was pretty basic. Cereal and waffles and juice. However there is a nice diner right next door. Decided to spring for a suite and honestly for what we paid I expected more considering that I've had nicer rooms for 50 dollars less. However the room itself was decent and clean. Now in fairness to the owners they may just be going through a "fix it" period because it does seem like certain things are nice, new and updated. Others seem to have been there a while and this hotel may have been acquired as is and they are in the process of updating it. Over all I'd stay here again.

Just what we needed

The room had everything we needed including a fridge and microwave. We also enjoyed the comfort of the beds and the quiet atmosphere. It was a very clean room as well. Nice staff to greet us and answer any questions. Very welcoming entryway/lobby area. The only downfall for me was very little options for breakfast that were low carb. My son loved his waffle, though!
