The sheets were stained, there was trash on the floor of the room, a non-working light above the bathroom sink, mystery stains on the bed frame. Service at the front desk was slow, but the man working was very nice. There wasn’t a secure entry into the hotel, you could walk right in and go to rooms because the key pad was broken and duct tape to stay open. Over all the hotel was run down and dirty!

One night stay

This was a one night stay. I had a show the next day in Elkader, and wanted to be close. The hotel was easy to get to and had several eating options. The room was spacious and quiet. The breakfast was tasty. I was very satisfied.

When we got into our room there was a caution sign on the floor we moved it and later stepped in that spot and it sunk it appears there is a hole under the carpet that we were not told about. Under the bathroom sink was still dirty there was a piece of garbage underneath. Also while in the bathroom the tiles were falling off the side of the tub and when standing in the tub it felt like you were going to fall through the floor. You could tell underneath was not solid at all. Also there was dirty grills outside on the sidewalk and garbage out back. Also while parking we saw there is broken windows on a room. Also the AC was set as low it goes and it didn’t work at all it barely ran it was sooo hot in our room.

The property overall is clean- a couple spots in common areas that could use a vacuum but rooms were clean. The staff were very kind. There is a grocery store and restaurant within walking distance.

Our first room had a hole covered by mats at the end of the bed to walk over and smelled so bad of musty mildew that we asked for different room after the first night. The different room was upstairs and an improvement over the first but the door drug so bad on the tile floor that it was a real struggle to go in or out of the room.

Not so Sure Stay

The hotel was old and is in need of repair. Our room had loose floor tiles and the bath tub had a hole that was patched up. The room had a bad odor which we discovered was an air freshener. I definitely would not stay here again.

The room smelt like musty mildew as soon as you walked in. The fold out bed was disgusting with stains all over it. The breakfast was ok. Didnt have any plates or bowls sitting out so we had to search the cabinets for them and the garbage was over flowing all over the floor and didnt get cleaned up or changed the 25 min we sat and ate.
