The restuarant and patio was convenient dinner spot. Staff was friendly and helpful and happy hour options between 5-6pm were a nice bonus. Rooms were small, but clean and air conditioned.

I stayed in a cabin/shed, which was a step up from camping! The bed was comfortable and it had an air conditioner and television, which both worked well. It was fine for the single night but I would do the regular room with attached bathroom if I were to stay longer.

Worst place we ever tried to check into.

Was advertised as “creekside chalet” and “panoramic”. Uh no! It was basically a shed out back, no creek, and the back of the establishment looked like a third world country. And this unit was out back with a view of all of that. Walked in, walked out, got back in the car and just started driving. Went to Fresno for a hotel. They also denied our request for refund otherwise I probably wouldn’t have typed this bad review. Luckily hotels.com gave us some of it back. I don’t recommend

We waited nearly an hour for a simple salad while no table received any food—servers only circulated beers, apparently to push alcohol sales. When questioned, staff became defensive and blamed a non-existent “large group.” Back at our cabin, the door code failed. It took 40 minutes and a battery swap before maintenance let us in. Inside, one shower lacked cold water and the other bathroom door wouldn’t lock. Poor service, shabby maintenance, and manipulative sales tactics made this a miserable stay. Look elsewhere for your national-park visit.

We LOVED staying here. The cottages are super cute. I love how well lit they are at night, especially needing to use the restroom in the middle of the night. My only complaint is the doors to the restrooms/showers and laundry room/kitchen were always unlocked despite the fine print in the instructions for using those facilities stating how to lock them and to please lock them when exiting. Unfortunately that made me feel significantly less safe. Going to the restroom in the evening or middle of the night was very creepy not knowing how long it was left unlocked or who had gone in there. It was also frustrating that I paid an extra $10 to use the laundry/kitchen area but since it was unlocked at all times due to other guests I probably didn’t need to pay like I’m assuming some others didn’t. Aside from the door issue I LOVED staying here. Super cute, clean, and friendly staff.

The hotel is in a great location for Kings Canyon access, and the restaurant looked nice. But be aware that the rooms are tiny, to the point where ours had essentially no surfaces or usable space, there is basically no staff on site and the restaurant does not open until lunchtime. And there are no open resources within at least ten miles if you arrive later in the evening, as we did. (There is a pleasant coffee-and-croissants place and mini-mart about three miles away, open in the morning.)

Great location and value

I really enjoyed staying at Gena's Inn. I stayed in the cabins, which I would consider a step above "glamping," which is exactly what I was looking for. This is a great location, about 30 minutes outside of the Kings Canyon entrance to SEKI. I appreciated the ease of access and thorough directions provided prior to check-in. The food at the restraurant was quite tasty as well! I would easily stay again!

The staff were all very friendly and the restaurant had great food. If you stay in the cabins, you’ll need to use the outdoor bathroom/shower facilities, but they are kept very clean so it’s not really a big deal. The beds are quite comfortable as well. I enjoyed my time here a lot!

The place was cute, it's basically a garden shed, turned into a little cabin. But, there are no rails along the loft or the top bunk, and that felt unsafe. I woke up a lot that night because i didn't want to roll off the bed, nor have my kid roll off the bunk. Also, i know it says community shower/restroom, but I wasn't aware it is for males/females to be in at the same time. That was weird. Funny though, it's an inside shower but there's large gaps along the floor, a frog was hanging out with me in it. There is a restaurant, but we didn't eat there.

The only complaint I have is that in the morning I had not hot water. To be fair there is a notice that hot water is on demand and may take 5 min to warm up. I waited 25 min with the shower on full blast hot and never got anything but cold. This was at 6:30 am and I don’t think there was a huge rush on hot water. That said the staff of the motel and restaurant were very kind and accommodating and I’m sure if I had told them about it they would have done something.
