Room smells like a typical 80 year old room that was smoked in for the first 40 years. The mattress was old and saggy. I turned on the heater, set to 68 and it never turned off, got up to 79 degrees. The cool function didn’t work, had to leave the unit off all night. Breakfast was not much more than a granola bar and a fruit.

After being gone all day we were not allowed in our room or near the hotel due to an armed person barricading himself in a room. Police were there 4 hours and sent us away. No help on where we should go. It was cold out and we needed rest rooms. We could not get to our car and were basically left stranded for hours.

The air conditioning was not working during our stay. I addressed this with the front desk staff. They offered me a fan and told me the manager would be in the following day. When I asked the next morning, the (new) front desk associate said the manager was away for several days. She did reach out to him. She Provo us his suggestions of a fan, opening the window or moving upstairs and have the window open on the balcony so we would feel safer. We did not feel like having the window open at night on the first level would be safe. And we really didn’t want to move all our belongings so we stayed in the original unit. The rate we paid was presuming we had a unit with everything working. I don’t feel management rectified the situation in a suitable manner.

Simple clean amenities, easy check in process and kind staff. The office does close late night, we got there right before close and they do have after hours check in procedures. Breakfast was very minimal with only grab and go offerings. Convenient location to explore downtown, onsite parking. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub but they looked clean.

No elevator and we were on the second floor so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. Old, refurbished, but still tired Travelodge, so no room for breakfast area. Not awful, beds were comfortable, and rooms were acceptable.
