Have traveled alot and this is one of our favorite hotels. A step back in time elegantly presented. Front desk was wonderful, food in Saloon tasty and reasonably priced. Close to the train (love the whistles) and great shopping. Our 3rd visit and we will be back!!

Loved our stay in this historic property. Room was lovely, food was very good and the back room tour of the hotel and its history was fascinating and well done. Definitely take advantage of this if you stay at the hotel! Staff was wonderful!

Don’t stay on the first floor!!!!!!!!!

Nice historic hotel in good location BUT we were put on the first floor in the back which was a HUGE disappointment!!! Tiny room, barely could move, tiny bathroom, shower for someone under 5 feet tall, window shade had to be kept close as looked into parking lot and building wall. Super uncomfortable. Should have been half the price of other rooms.

Loved our stay at the Strater. It was our first time to Durango. We were here for a wedding. We loved the added touch of the historic hotel for the wedding party. So much history in this hotel and town. Will definitely be back.
