We had to pay R50 deposit per key, but were not refunded when checking out. The first room we received was stinky and the aircon didn't work. We complained and were assigned a new room which was much better. The area isn't that safe, but there is safe/guarded parking for an extra fee of R50 per night, and the hotel itself feels safe (it's also 24/7 guarded).

Disappointing Breakfast

I recently stayed at Bayside Hotel and booked my stay through Hotel.com. My booking clearly stated that a continental breakfast was included in the price. However, upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that breakfast was not included for guests who booked online. Despite showing my confirmation email from Hotel.com which clearly listed breakfast as included, the receptionist refused to acknowledge this and insisted I pay extra for breakfast. This created an unnecessary and frustrating situation at the beginning of my stay. While the hotel itself may have been satisfactory, this experience significantly impacted my overall impression. It was disappointing to have to argue for a service that was already paid for.

Durban Delight

The location was excellent for my purposes and the accommodation was great. Friendly and courteous staff all around the building from Security & Reception to the Domestic Helpers. The room was comfortable and well organised, I would use this venue again while in Durban.
