Lovely rooms in excellent decorative condition and friendly front desk staff. Quiet location but close to city. Downside is the dining option. The only walking distance option is the restaurant in the adjoining leisure centre. More cafe than restaurant and everything from the microwave. It was ok but no more than that. We would stay again but as the room was so lovely but eat elsewhere

It is like a premier inn clean and tidy. No frill but does have great shower gels and towels

The booking had been cancelled due to an error, but they were able to find a room. The hotel was fully booked, really noisy and insulation was poor. I was blocked in the car park by another resident and the staff were reluctant to help saying it may not be a resident. When i threatened to call the police, they checked and asked the resident to move the car. Given the parking was visible from the desk, i am surprised it was allowed.

It was close to where we wanted to visit. Could use the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The cafe/resturant on site catered for my gluten intolerance. Staff were lovely.

We were overnighting in Durham for a university Open Day and the Bannatyne was easy to find, plenty of off street parking and a stream of Uber drivers available within minutes. The hotel was modern and well maintained. Good bed and shower. Excellent breakfast. A good choice.

Functional. Property atmosphere was flat . Staff were friendly. Couldn’t get my devices to connect to the TV even with leads. As a travelling businessman little bits at the end of a long day count. Was told there were only bar snacks in the gym. Went out in to Durham. Didn’t need to. Found out they had basic food just wrong info given. Didn’t want the 90 mins messing around finding somewhere.
