Nice room, quite large for a single. Very spacious and clean bathroom. Good facilities in the room. Clean bedding and towels. The only slight issue was a noise all night from an extractor, or something like that, outside; however, I think that was probably just the room I was in, but overall very good - great price too.

The hotel was great really . I’d say the only down side was the bed.. we’ve had worse but the mattress was a little springy and had to turn it over

It was very clean like always. Quiet and very very helpful. It was really lovely to have a fridge in the room . We wish all hotel should have a fridge . No worries about booking up at the hotel again . Many thanks .

Excellent 4 day break
I agree with some other reviews I read before we arrived about how tired the hotel was, I thought what do you expect with an old lady like the Cavendish. The room was big, single beds as requested, a 3 seater sofa, 2 arm chairs, chair and desk, chest of drawers and wardrobe (some hotels don’t even supply that), what luxury for us. The food was great both morning and evening, hot and appetising. I already had a discount on the price, but other discounts were offered which made all the difference. I had to take little doggie out through the night due to him having water tablets, this was no problem and everyone I met day or night were very polite and professional.

Budget hotel
A low budget hotel with limited staff and facilities however the staff were helpful and friendly. The balcony access is through a sash window with dodgy high steps through. Only two pillows in a double occupancy room but I was informed, if I went down to reception you could get extra. Breakfast was do it yourself but it was hot and sufficient. Check out was 10.00 am by dropping the keys in.

We had a lovely room with a nice Seaview with only a few negative issues. The window had to be closed with two adults as the window frame was highly unstable. The plumbing in this hotel is such that you get a roaring sound resembling a massive vacuum cleaning device, every time you flush or let the bath water go.In the bathroom you can hear this racket throughout the building which is rather annoying. Check in at 3pm and check out time at 10am is a joke really... Other than that it was an ok stay with a nice view.

A Mixed Bag
Positives: - A very inviting reception area. - Impressive guest lounges with comfortable seating. - Central location on seafront. - Helpful and attentive staff. - Spacious corridors. - Well decorated and clean bathroom. - Comfortable bed, giving quite a good night's sleep. Negatives: - Poor lighting in room - bizarrely, the ceiling had been lowered so that strip lighting was hidden away at the edge of the room and virtually ineffective; the only other light was a desk lamp, which hardly gave any light to the room itself. - More attention needs to be paid to cleaning carpet around bed. - The room was located directly above what appears to be the ventilation for the kitchen. This came on at 6.30am and then again in the evening; even with secondary glazing, it caused some disturbance. - Disturbance from creaky floorboards of room above. - No wi-fi (totally unacceptable). - Poor selection of Freeview channels on TV. - A little 'tight' with toilet paper and tubes of shower gel & shampoo.

Our sea view room was exceptional. There was no servicing of rooms and we had to ask at reception for towels tea coffee and bring them up to our room. We were told no housekeeping staff were coming into our room during our three night stay.

Balcony room - window did not open. Beds were really uncomfortable Very noticeable damp patches in the room and around the hotel. It’s very beautiful but the owner needs to upkeep it as it’s falling down in parts. Was a lot more pricier than the Burlington and I’d say I prefer them.
