Checked in,staff was good, but went down hill from there. One lift out of service, and the other one was very small ,just about fitted us and small traval bags. Once on the floor it smelled bad,( damp and ammonia smell.we finally got to our door it was broken ,infact it open with a slight push,without using key.the room itself was very very outdated, Ironing board broken, curtains were also dirty and partly of it's rail.bed was tilted, no cabinet door ,bathroom very outdated but surprisingly the best part of the room . We left straight after dinner, Considering the advertising for this hotel which is completely outdate ,

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover
If I’m honest it’s a bit of a dive from the outside, especially from the back, and so is the reception. But the room, with the sea view was lovely. Clean, good shower, quiet. Would recommend for a weekend away.

Although it was very cold outside no one prepared us for the temp in the room lol proper face melter. There has been a lick of paint since our last stay which looks great. Only one lift that’s meant to hold 4 people or in my my case just one and hope I don’t set the alarms off

Perfect, well priced coastal weekend getaway.
Wanted to get away for a cheap winter weekend break and this hotel and the price were perfect. Positioned opp the pier, next to the town centre, thus big old palatial Victorian hotel was perfect. There might not be any major thrills but at less than £50 per night incl breakfast, you really can’t go wrong! And the staff were lovely, the rooms clean and the whole hotel, very warm, which was most appreciated on a bitterly cold, but beautiful romantic tinged weekend. Thankyou.

Unfortunately the location of the property did not meet our needs, so this clouded our judgement, The bar area had been hired out for a new year get together and our car was boxed in so we could not get out in the evening. This again was our bad planning.
