I was extremely pleased with this hotel. Each room has a kitchenette in it. The rooms are extremely quiet and come with blackout shades. It's located on the Royal Mile so you are surrounded by all sorts of shops, restaurants, etc. I felt very safe in this area. So many things to see -- very historic.

This hotel made the perfect headquarters for our trip to Edinburgh. It is on the Royal Mile but on the quieter end near Holyroodhouse. The kitchen and fridge were much appreciated as a way to store food and leftovers. Also, really like the washing machine available downstairs…it came in super handy after a week of travel.

Very good and quiet location close to everything- even the Edinburgh Waverley station is a few minutes walk! We were even allowed early check in. Only comment is there are is no fan in the bathroom and no lotion provided, quality of toiletry provided is however very good. Overall very pleasant experience.

This is a great hotel to stay at in the old town of Edinburgh right on the quiet end of the royal mile. Amenities are great in the lobby and the staff are very helpful at all hours of the day. Very walkable to the train and everywhere you want to go in this beautiful town.

The property was sufficient but nothing stood out during our stay. It was a good, walkable location, with good dining options close by. Staff were okay, not the worst but not the friendliest or most welcoming. We asked about an adapter for our charger and was charged £10 to buy one, which I know it wasn't a new converter as the staff raffled around to get it from their drawer and the adapter had scuffles on it. We didn't mind paying but I should note that I've never had a hotel or accomodation charge me for an old adapter that someone most likely forgot in their room as they usually lend them out and collect them back at check-out if they have some to spare. It's a small but nice gesture, which is not the case for this hotel.

Have stayed here several times over the last few years. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, and staying in the Canongate means a quieter overall experience. Love Adagio!

Accessibility to train station, food, culture and music. We arrived late and getting from train to hotel with bags is always a challenge. Even with heavy bags we were able to drag up and down the stairs of Old Town with minimum effort. Then we found a bar to quench our thirst and music to feed our soul. Sterile in design but who needs more than a clean affordable bed in the center of Old Town.

Beds were absolutely horrible - lumpy and sloping mattresses should have been replaced ages ago. The little kitchenette was perfect otherwise. The on-site laundry was a blessing. Staff were lovely and knowledgeable.
