I stayed at the hotel for three nights. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff are accommodating however the hotel itself was a bit run down with the hallways looking particularly worn and the bathrooms were not particularly clean. When we checked in there was a bit of a sharpened pencil in the sink). There is also no air conditioning which is probably not needed most of the year but on one of the warmest days in Edinburgh would have been very welcome.

I stayed at the Apex for my partners 60th Birthday We chose the hotel for its location and views of Edinburgh castle The 5th floor terrace was closed so only view was through a glass door We received a complimentary glass of wine in the hotel bar with my platinum status We were not offered a room upgrade and the room was a bit tired with marked carpet and a shower over the very deep bath We were left luxury chocolates in our room My pillow smelt of food despite us not eating in the room We ate in Metro and had an excellent 2 course meal served by very attentive staff The bar staff and reception staff were friendly and engaging

This hotel was centrally located to everything you want to see in Edinburgh. Bus lines are close as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was quiet but the area is known for nightlife so don’t expect complete quiet due to the convenient location to pubs and restaurants. Beautiful view of the castle as well.

Great hotel in the heart of the city! It was an easy tram ride from the airport, and easy to walk from there to the city center and all around! Comfy and clean rooms, very modern feeling while still being quaint. The dining area and bar were lovely as well. The castle view rooms also went beyond our expectations.
