Excellent location near Edinburgh’s main attractions, train station and shopping. Staff are professional, kind and ready to meet your needs. Rooms are quiet and spacious with some nice city views. The restaurant has excellent choices all day long.

Nice hotel close to train and bus station. Stayed here one night before early departure. Apex Grassmarket was closer to all of the attractions and fun nightlife.

the lobby was under construction so it was difficult at times coming in and having to go through the restaurant. We were on the 10th floor and the room was nice, nothing special. Bed was comfortable and the big soaking tub was nice. Staff were all very good and accommodating. Restaurant was nice, especially the breakfast buffet every morning.

The property was about a ten minute walk to the Royal Mile. It is also located near lots of shopping and dining options. There is a mall located around the corner and a tour bus stop across the street. The steamroom, sauna and pool were very clean and great temperatures.

The best thing about this property is the location. The rooms are comfortable enough, but lacks attention to finer details so not really 4*. On the first day, the shower didn't drain, one of the supplied towels had a hole in it, and the temperature control in the room was poorly responsive. Service was attentive, so upon feedback they quickly rectified the first two issues. However, the room remained either too cold or too hot throughout our stay. Tried room service one night, but the food was far overpriced for the quality. The pool is too small for swimming in, and too cold for relaxing in, and bathrobes are not provided while pound coins are needed for the lockers so very impractical for hotel guests.

Perfect location and great service
We had an amazing time at Apex Waterloo Place and will definitely be coming back next time we visit Edinburgh! We arrived early and were kindly offered an early check in, as well as being told we had been given a free upgrade to a deluxe double room which was a lovely surprise. The room was spacious and clean and had all the amenities we needed. The hotel is in a perfect location, a very short walk from the train station and the perfect distance from both old and new town. My only small issues were that the heating wasn't great so we were cold quite often and the fire alarm went off twice, one of the times waking us up and making us leave the hotel at 5am, although I do acknowledge this is no fault of the hotel staff. Overall an amazing stay in an incredible city!
