One night's sleep and the rest of it was hassle.

Nice place but badly managed. Made a reservation for dinner, waited ages too be served and charged a service charge for my privilege. Was told that I would receive a receipt by email when I checked out. This has not happened and I can only chase it by email as speaking on the phone doesn't resolve the matter.

Very dark decor, but nice. Our rooms were of average size with nice bathrooms. We noticed packing to leave that our room's smoke detector had a plastic bag over it. We are guessing previous occupants may have been smoking or vaping. We advised staff at the front desk on checkout and were told they would take care of that immediately. We enjoyed our meals and beverages in the bar.

Perfect

Cannot fault this property - everything from welcoming reception to friendly and helpful hotel staff, room comfort - bed and shower, food the works were just spot on. Even arriving on bikes they were able to find somewhere safe to store them. Would recommend and would return .

We have a very pleasant stay at the Dakota Hotel. Very friendly staff, lovely and clean, very welcoming, cosy communal areas. Reception staff were very helpful, however, special mention to Nieve, who was kind enough to help me a couple of times. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for one night before travelling from Edinburgh Airport. Hotel was clean and well decorated throughout. Although the stairs we used as there was a problem with the lift felt like we were in a public car park! Not in keeping with rest of hotel. Room was quiet and pleasant to stay in. Only slight issue was that the bed was very soft and noisy when moved.

We did not end up staying there-the main reason we picked this hotel was what was posted on their site about airport shuttle. When we requested it during the offered time and 72hrs prior-we were told they wouldn't have it available and since we booked through a 3rd party we would lose our $.

Lovely place

Enjoyed our stay and location of Hotel. Staff really lovely.Upgraded to Executive room, but didnt feel it was wirth the extra £60. Lovely toiletries, but not enough for 2 adults for 2 days. Same with coffee.. Ordered steak (medium)however in my opinion it was rare. I choked on the steak and had to leave it. I didnt return it, but when manager took my plate away he failed to ask if it had been ok. Lump of steak on my plate was left at the side wrapped in tissue. Felt he could have asked, as other guests enquired if I was ok and were ready to assist with my choking episode. I didnt want any fuss, but we paid for a meal which i was unable ti eat and it was evident on the plate which was taken away. Everything else was lovely.
