Likes: Proximity to North Bridge, great views, the gardens on Princes Street, numerous shops and places to eat, Waverley Train Station, The Royal Mile and the Scottish National Gallery The hotel allowed me into my room several hours early and very kindly did not charge me for checking out 1 hour later than the stated time I received help with my luggage which was appreciated. Good to find vegetarian and vegan food options but would have liked to see more fish on the menu (not seafood) e.g. salmon Huge bed was comfortable but pillows quite thin Good breakfast but there were a few surprising omissions - for example, I think no porridge Good lighting Reasonably priced and delicious cream tea Dislikes: I found it difficult to select the right TV channel when I wanted to watch a particular programme and found the Spanish? on screen offputting I couldn't find the Reset Button so didn't use the safe My room was not as colourful as shown in website photographs Absence of cushions on bed Small bathroom but decent size shower Towels were quite small Had to ask for a room service menu to be brought to my room Tasty and reasonably priced cream tea

Really nice hotel, central to everything, good transport links only thing to mention there is work going on in the Old Jennings building next door so you can hear work going on but it’s not disruptive

Fantastic location
Tucked away above Princes Street, the hotel is in an unassuming building but perfect location. Checking in was easy and the staff were very accommodating. It felt very clean and the bed was very comfortable, soft linen and a good shower. Couldn't ask for any more.

Its just an average hotel not special much and you need to pay some of your basics needs like slippers considering the price is expensive and the soundproofing is to poor you can hear the people next to the room and the cleaners while cleaning but the cleanliness is great and its walkable to train station and some sites
