Could not have been more perfect. Would recommend. Staff is super helpful and kind. Exactly where we wanted to be for dining, museums and a lovely park.
Staff helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect, close to tram, bus and bus tours. You can walk to Royal Mile easily. We walked across street to take bus to airport. Room was large and overlooked old city, stunning at night!
Nice hotel with great location. Very short walk to the train station, tram, and airport shuttle bus. Not far from historic Old Town section. Near numerous dining and pub options on Rose Street.
Wonderful location - central to so many things in Edinburgh...very pleased with our stay there

Liked: Cleanliness
Stairs were challenging to navigate with baggage, definitely would be impossible for anyone in a wheelchair. Location was great, easy walking distance to the buses, trains, and loads of attractions.
Breakfast was great! The hotel is clean but old and worn. The photos of the rooms did not represent the overall well-used condition of the hotel in general and our room on the 6th floor. There is no elevator to reception on the 1st floor.
Near rail station which attracts noise and misc activity. Can be noisy at times. Basic tourist level hotel. Staff was nice and helpful but properly is a bit worn. Staff works hard in daily cleaning and room turnover.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Very convenient, buses right out the front door, close to everything. Very warm room but at least they let us borrow a fan and we could open the window. You’re paying for location. Older facility but it had everything we needed.

Disliked: Staff & service
With only one exception, I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful.
The location of this hotel is beyond measure. So close to all the places we wanted to visit. One of our party had mobility issues and this hotel was perfectly placed.
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to all my family and friends
The staff is not unfriendly but not necessarily friendly. In another words, they did not seem to care.
Carrying heavy luggages through stairs was so difficult and inconvenient. Had a room facing an office building, which was undergoing construction with lots of noises in the early morning.
It’s located in the amazing spot and very close to the train station. however, the price is much higher than those hotel located nearby due to the claim of the oldest hotel in town.
