All staff members were super friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. We particularly enjoyed spending time with Shea. The only minor issue with the room was that an explanation of what had to be done for the lights to work was not given upon check-in. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Place Hotel in Edinburgh is a charming establishment that is within easy walking distance from Waverley Station and Waverley Mall, even if hauling your luggage, as I did. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were very hospitable and generously helpful with any of my needs or questions. There's a charming bar area, along with two very nice breakfast dining areas, which are connected, with ample common rooms in between. My single room was very nicely set up, very clean and had its own private bathroom and shower. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and I was able to rest well after more than 24 hrs of travel. Breakfast does costs extra but was so worth it, because of the variety of choices of food and beverages. The only thing I found daunting were the stairs and carrying luggage up and down. Thankfully, Reception staff did help me get my luggage up two flights of stairs to my room, as I was wearing a knee brace, but just know that there is no lift. I will definitely stay here again, and highly recommend The Place Hotel for it's welcoming staff and extremely comfortable accommodations.
