Awesome breakfast. Fabulous staff. Nice rooms but they were so new they smelled like paint. Great place.
A lovely older hotel. Our room was spacious and everything was super clean. Comfy beds. Friendly staff.

If you get a ground floor room in the annex, the foot traffic outside makes it difficult to sleep. The space was also incredibly small and cramped. We could barely walk around to the other side of the bed. Would not stay here again.
The staff were very helpful with any questions that we had, as well as the hotel was comfortable and being able to stay in a building with the history it had was a great experience.
The Royal Scots Club provides a lovely ambience, although we had large suitcases and would have appreciated a lift rather than having to haul our luggage up the stairs.
What a beautiful hotel I loved my stay. I wanted a place that had Scottish history and they hit it out of the park. Breakfast was very delicious and I loved all the china place setting it made me feel like royalty. 10/10 I will stay again!!!
Wonderful "I'll be at my club" vibes. Location is walkable to so much of New and Old Town with a wealth of cafés, restaurants, and interesting small, local stores within minutes. Room was very comfortable with good space for two.
Historic and authentic Scottish, charming place. But a bit concerning that you have to use a key to lock yourself in at night, which would be dicey if there was a fire and you had to struggle with finding and using the old skeleton key to get out. When you leave the hotel for the day, they want you to leave the key at the desk and retrieve it when you return. Also, our room was below ground level and smelled a little musty.
If you are into Scottish military history, this is the perfect hotel. I found it a bit stuffy and snooty. My room felt like it was in the bowels of the hotel and finding your way was a challenge - lots of levels, corridors and doors. On a positive note, hotel was clean and comfortable and they served a nice breakfast. I enjoyed reading in the lounge area. Great location on a beautiful street. Just wasn’t a good fit for me.
