Couldn’t ask for a better location in my opinion. Walkable to the castle, right on Victoria Street, great restaurants, beautifully appointed rooms and the most amazing service and staff. Highly recommend!

Perfect Hotel

Absolutely first class experience from beginning to end. Check in was very friendly, informative and welcoming . VIP access recognised with welcome drink and rom upgrade . Bar and restaurant excellent and junior suite was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Funky hotel a minutes walk from the royal mile. Great service, nothing to complain about other that the noisy neighbours. Nightclub at the back had thudding music until 3am. By window had two sets of double glazing but it’s the thudding that reverberates the building and I was 8 floors up. Ask for a room at the other side of the hotel if you have trouble sleeping

Amazing hotel experience !!!

This is not just a gorgeous hotel, it is ideally located, with wonderful views and amenities. As we struggled with luggage the amazing doorman came out to us and offered to help with the bags. Service is the heart of this hotel and I’d highly recommend it!

Hotel has two entrances just make sure you go to correct entrance if arriving by car, awaiting conceirge will take your car away swiftly so remember to take everything you need out

Very good overall

The hotel and hotel room were lovely and clean with high quality fittings and fixtures. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Our room had locked patio doors with no balcony which was a bit odd so it would've been nice to have the option to open a window slightly. Also the TV casting didn't work and also the guide wasn't working properly so none of the programmes on the TV channels were displaying. I also wish the mini bar fridge contained a carton of milk as opposed to UHT pots on the side. Breakfast was included in our stay and was very good and had very efficient service. All staff were very friendly.

Beautiful property with generally excellent servce

Service at the hotel was almost universally superb. The concierge and front desk were especially excellent. The only glaring exception was the breakfast service at the Eve restaurant. The service there was terrible.

Virgin Hotels Edinburgh is a unique property in a great location with good facilities. The rooms are modern and clean but extremely small and our so-called castle view room looked out of the staircase of the building opposite with a distant view of Edinburgh castle if you stood in the corner of the room and looked diagonally through the small glass door! Although I appreciated the location, the room was very over-priced for the size and limited view. Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the visit though were the rather aloof and unhelpful staff. The front desk was usually manned by 2-4 people who stood and chatted among themselves but never interacted with us. They seemed more interested in looking cool than helping guests.Likewise the concierge always seemed to have 2 people standing there who were busy talking to each other but didn't greet guests. The one good interaction I had was with a barman / server in the Eve restaurant who was helpful and friendly and volunteered to carry our meal upstairs even though I came down to order in person. I was also helped by a member of staff after I left behind eyeglasses which needed to be mailed back to me. Overall I was disappointed by the stay.
