The hotel was clean enough but dated, was given a room in the “new building” but it was quite old. There were homeless people hanging out all around the outside of the building, going through garbages and sleeping, felt a tad unsafe especially at night. All night from 1-4 the people in the room above were fighting, yelling, stomping, and having very loud relations. Walls were thin didn’t get any sleep.

Ok stay

We stayed 2 nights. Check in was really nice and easy .loved the fact that there was room service. The second day we tried room service only to find out you have to pay extra for it. Would have been nice to know this upon check in. The phone in the room did not work,so we had to use our cell phones to call the front desk. The tv did not work….had a guy come to fix it and he said yeah there’s a few problems with the tvs. Just unplug it to re set tv and it should work for a while..I also told him about phone in room being broken. His reply was yeah they knew about it ..did not offer to replace it . The bed in room definitely needs to be replaced.The Mattress had a big sag in the middle. When we checked out the person at front desk asked how the stay was. I told her about the phone and tv. She said you should have called we would have fixed them. I said I did and nothing was done to fix . She just rolled her eyes saying nothing further about it. So I assume this is an ongoing problem with maintenance on the rooms .

The staff were amazing and very helpful. However the room could use updating. Wall paper peeling. The fridge was loud we just turned if off. The fan was continuously running. The beds were comfy.

Wont book here again.

Hotel is dirty and run down. Elevator and electrical switches shock you. Went to hit the button to go down from the fourth floor and got a good shock Hotel staff took forever to check in and messed up access card causing us to be locked out of our room second day in out of four. This was done even after I corrected them saying we were there longer. No door accessible but front doors so all handicap parking along building isn’t actually easily accessible to the building.

When I tried to change the booking date the Chateau Nova said they could not but that Expedia could. After contacting Expedia they replied saying that the Nova would not change the check in date and I was charged even though I did not erer enter the property. They both said it was the others fault and were obviously telling false excuses. I will never use Expedia or Chateau Nova's services ever again. Zero star rating for both of them.

Check in was kind of painful. I was standing in line to check in was told it would take a few minutes and to have a seat on the couch so I did. Got ignored had to re line up. What I’m guessing was the manager eventually called me to the desk ask how she could help. I said I needed to check in and she found my reservation paper than told me I had to wait AGAIN for the one desk clerk and the “manager” walked away. Took me nearly 30 minutes from the time I arrived just to get checked in. Was told the front doors LOCK at 5pm and you need to have you room key to get back into the hotel. Wasn’t told why they lock them especially so early. Rooms are outdated. My room was clean however the bathroom vanity had little chips in the counter top. The door in the bathroom looked like the paint has been scratched off or not completely painted all the way. Couldn’t control the heater/ac in my room and it ran ALL NIGHT. Not sure if it was just the air in the room from the heater/ac running all night (was on when I arrived too) or what but my throat kept becoming super dry in the night.

Smoking area is around the corner of the building, which is unsafe considering the amount of homeless is the area! I live in Edmonton so doesn’t really bother me. However, being a female I did not go around corner for a smoke by myself!
