Friendly staff. The room was a bit small and there was no bathroom fan. It wasn't the cleanest room but was satisfactory.

We stayed in three different hotels during our trip to Canada and this was my favourite: the staff couldn't be more helpful and accommodating and friendly. There's a lovely bar/restaurant where we enjoyed evening drinks and desserts. We stayed in a suite and I'd definitely recommend the upgrade - spacious, well equipped, nicely maintained. It was a lovely stay and thank you to everybody on the desk and in the bar who made it such a nice experience.

Doesn't offer free breakfast to guests. "Only government and local businesses". Seems like a weird choice for a hotel Location of the hotel is great and you can walk to many restaurants and cafe's Carpet felt decent, showerhead was pretty bad, pillows quite bad as well Probably not worth the money anymore since they got rid of breakfast. But location is good at least

Check in was quick and easy. Convenient short walk to the LRT. Fairly close to Legislature grounds and just off Jasper Ave. Parking was easy. Bathroom was a bit dated and aesthetically it could do with a modernized shower upgrade but the shower head water flow was surprisingly vigorous and we had lots of hot water. Free coffee in lobby or visit the adjacent Starbucks. We would stay here again.

Best Kept Secret

I have seen the Matrix around for years but never had the opportunity to stay there. WHAT A MISTAKE. The Matrix is now officially my favorite hotel in Edmonton. The location is ideal, close to downtown while still in a beautiful and quiet area. The check-in and check-out process were quick and easy, with amazing interactions with staff at every point. The room was clean and modern, the bed was great and the water pressure in the bathroom was UNREAL. 10/10 would recommend.
