Effingham Best Western

This is our regular hotel for travel between Little Rock Arkansas and Port Clinton Ohio. Convenient location and good service. We do miss the Happy Hour and snacks when we would check in but they allow our dog to stay with us so we are satisfied.

Front desk staff were friendly and efficient at check in and check out. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was substantial with eggs, breakfast meat, waffles and assorted breads, muffins and pastry.

Just okay. The room seemed pretty clean but the carpet was stained and walls missing paint. That’s not really a big deal when you just need a place to lay your head real fast. The room was air conditioned but was really humid and the ac loud. Not my favorite stay at a motel.

The pool was clean, the staff(breakfast attendant , front desk and cleaning crew) was personable. The location is very convenient to the highway. Most restaurants were within a quick driving distance. It was quiet, there was a lot of slamming doors or noisiness late at night and the hotel was pretty booked.

As opposed to another BW I just reviewed, this one was was actually pretty nice. The room and the bathroom were both pretty clean, for a "dog room". Decent breakfast and clean facilities. The young lady who checked us in was top notch. I would stay again.

Do not recommend until remodeled

Breakfast was fine. Our first room smelled so bad we were moved. Smelled moldy. Second smelled better but still not great. Room needs remodeling, old worn furniture. Staff was not friendly. Not a smile from them or a warm greeting. We stay at Best Westerns and usually have good luck. Not with this one. Would not recommend until building is remodeled.
