The name and 4 stars lead one to believe it is a special place. It is a clean friendly basic hotel. However I didn’t think I was booking a basic hotel for our 10th anniversary.

We had an excellent stay at the Grand Hotell. The parking was just across the street. We were able to bring our dog without issues. The EIGRA restaurant and bar on site was amazing. Breakfasts, which were included, were a treat. We can’t wait to stay again.

Great location for hiking activities

Good location for exploring Magma Geopark, hiking to Trollpiken or cycling excursion to Hellvik area. 1hrs10min.on the local train from Stavanger. About 15min walk from train station in the centre of Egersund. The exterior of the hotel looks really charming. Room was clean, quiet, spacious bathroom, i was just missing kettle facilities in a room or hot water dispenser somewhere in a lobby...but reception staff was really helpful and let me fill my thermos. The only thing i didnt like in a room was this constant noise from the central air conditioning system which unfortunately you cannot switch it off in a room or regulate the temperature. It was a bit chilly during night in mid Sep. Big praise to reception staff for sorting my bike rental and info on hikes / cycle trails in the area. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice.Would happily stay here again while visiting the area.

Stayed in a 3 person room, which was average european size. 3rd bed was a sofa bed, not a true bed, which wasn't comfortable. Breakfast was great! Overall, good stay, would recommend. Parking: They have some free spots (I think like 3-4) around the block which is a short walk. If you don't get one, then street parking was available when I was there, which was fine. Cheap as well, very close to the hotel.

We received a warm welcome when we arrived and checked in. Our room on the top floor was spacious, light and airy and spotlessly clean. We only wanted a light snack rather than a full meal and the staff gladly arranged this for us.

Very nice hotell. It had been renovated and rooms were nice. Hotel had a parking lot close by with free parking. Had dinner at their restaurant which we enjoyed. Friendly people in the reception.
