Idea location but limited parking. Very old building in need of outside repairs. No lift and being on the second floor was difficult with luggage. But very clean and tidy, staff very helpful. Could not fault the service.

The Lamb Hotel has been there for donkey's years and it shows. The downstairs bar, dinning area is quite smart, pleasant to be in and has obviously had a few quid spent on it. The rooms or at least the room we had was pretty average. Plumbing, shower, bathroom must have been installed in the 70s. Out shower did not work at all and there is no maintenance on at the weekend. The staff did offer us a change of room but we couldn't be doing the disruption. The staff on the other hand were excellent. Checkin was easy, bar staff very good and cleaning staff, never seemed to stop working. All in all a good stay and I wouldn't want to put anyone off this hotel because it's ok but the Savoy it is not. It would need a very large investment to bring the rooms up to a good standard, a lick of paint won't cut it but all in all it does the job.

Staff were very welcoming and polite. My room was clean and comfortable. Good range of food available at breakfast. There are areas of the hotel that are looking a little tired, and my poached eggs were overdone at breakfast, but on the whole I’m happy with the venue.

The Lamb is literally about 20-30 seconds walk from Ely Cathedral! It's a heritage building which has some unique character. Very nice rooms (I stayed in Room 1, good size for solo travellers or a couple). Good facilities and room amenities: kettle/tea/coffee, iron/board/hangers/shelves, telly, desk, toiletries, towels, etc. I did have a bit of an issue with the toilet as it was not flushing too well first day, but that was fixed by staff. Very convenient location: cathedral is literally next door; but also Ely train station, a coach/bus stop and a large Tesco are all about 10-12mins walk away! There is a high street area in front of the hotel, so there is some street noise during certain times of the day and evening, but I did not find it too loud or busy.

Location is great for being in the middle of town. Room facilities are less than stellar. Had 1 power socket in the entire room, with no air con the place was like a sauna day and night, not helped by the windows only opening a crack.
