I stayed in a 1b with a privet bathroom in LOW season and it was $75 a night. The bathroom had mold smell and mold in the tile floors and tile walls in the shower and mold In the tile in the sink. The towel was so old it had a smell dried my face and the smell was then on my face. Such terrible bathroom and room smell for a $75 a night hostel! The sink had aunts and they migrated towards the room! Such a nightmare The staff and food was great !

Staff needs to be more attentive and friendly. And the horse riding tours need to be more organized. When you arrive to the property to check in, someone should take you to your cabin, and show you the grounds. You are left to fend for yourself and figure it out on your own. They need thicker blankets because it gets cold in the cabin or the option of a portable heater should be put in each room. Our tv wasn’t working and we asked for extra blankets and no one showed up, it was raining so maybe that’s why not sure. Their check out system needs upgrading, it’s pretty tacky that you have to wait for a staff member to come count the pillows, towels, and all things in the room to be sure nothing has been stolen before you leave. Extremely uncomfortable and tacky system! Especially since I’m the kind of person who never takes anything that isn’t mine. It’s just plain rude! They need to come up with a different system. Other than that the cabin is cute. Don’t expect too much privacy though, they have farm workers walking the grounds at all hours 3AM so on … your best bet for privacy unfortunately is to keep your curtains closed which defeats the purpose of having the all glass walls to view the beautiful scenery this Finca offers. Overall it was a nice experience but not sure I’d stay again unless the things mentioned are fixed.

Peaceful quiet and clean and the staff so nice 10/10

The staff were beyond helpful - if you need any excursion, vehicle transfer, restaurant recommendations, they are more than happy to help. The hotel was clean and the rooftop was very enjoyable. Highly recommend El Carmen

We were disappointed with our stay and left early, forfeiting our second night because the noise was unbearable. The property photos are extremely misleading. Balconies appear to face a peaceful forest, but actually overlook a busy highway with constant traffic, loud mufflers, honking, barking dogs, and roosters crowing at all hours. We booked expecting a quiet, "spa-like" environment based on the listing, but relaxation or sleep was impossible. Furthermore, pre-trip communication was frustrating. The property ignored Expedia messages, forcing expensive international phone calls as they lack a WhatsApp contact. They also advertise thermal pools, but neglect to mention that locals can use the facilities. On a Tuesday, the pools were so overcrowded I couldn't find a chair. One of the pools were closed, and the remaining ones required an extra fee. Worse was the loud music played. This place could not be further from relaxing. The only enjoyable part of the stay was the steam rooms. While staff aren't responsible for outside noise, the listing must honestly reflect the setting. Management showed little concern for our issues.
