Run, don’t stay here

This trip was booked last minute so there were few hotels available. No way this place deserves the high rating it has. The property was not well kept and the pool was closed for “scheduled maintenance” in July? We paid for 2 nights, but only stayed one, forfeiting the amount we paid for the second night. We stripped all bedding off the bed and slept on beach towels we had with us The shower was moldy and the bedding was threadbare and looked dirty. The decorative sled hanging above the bed had the biggest spider web inside! Never again!

The bed was very comfortable. The linen and towels were clean but towels were stained from use. It was noisy outside of our room from other guests after 9 pm for at least an hour.

Get what you pay for kind of place. Location was great for the park but we did not receive check in or check out instructions and there was no front desk so had to call and get the instructions verbally. WiFi was troublesome in the evenings, likely when too many people were trying to access. Also the bathroom was unusually small for what was otherwise a very spacious room

We were not sent our code to access our room like promised. We had to call to get the code. The room was not very clean, hair in the tub and on the bathroom floor, dusty all over. One of the mattresses was very hard and uncomfortable and the bedding was old and worn. The area is beautiful but the place needs a deep cleaning and updates.

Rustic and Charming

This is an older property but it’s in fantastic shape. The rooms are evocative of old-style timber lodges, not sleek or super modern but absolutely clean, comfortable and certainly charming. My wife and I stayed in Estes for a couple of days to pick our son up from camp and we would certainly return here next time we need to do so. The location is also perfect — close enough to downtown Estes without being in the hustle and bustle of all the tourists.
