Historically wonderful

My mom and I choose to stay here when we are in town to visit family, we have stayed 3 times so far. It is a lovely “experience” hotel with so much history and charm. I want to bring my husband up to stay as well since I love this hotel so much and he has not yet come with me. The breakfast choices are simple but better than a lot of other hotels I have stayed at. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, some of the bathrooms are a little smaller than others but that’s okay. The elevator may be a little slow but the stairs are easy to take as well, maybe not with luggage, or for my mom. The front desk staff has always been friendly and helpful this time as well as each time previously. The only less than wonderful thing I could say about this hotel or my stay here, maybe check behind the nightstand for the dust along the baseboards occasionally. I went to plug my charger in and noticed it needed some attention. However, everywhere else in sight was clean and well taken care of, most people may not even use that outlet. Although it would be nice to have something with extra outlets next to the beds instead of across the room near the coffee pot only. In short, all stays have been welcoming and restful at the Eureka Inn.

An older establishment in dire need of some upgrades. Room only had a single photo sized mirror in the bathroom at the equally small sink. No full sized mirrors in the room for getting ready. No AC and we had to keep the windows open for some decent airflow which meant we had to also hear all the nearby construction in the morning. Outlets for charging were nowhere near the bed. Couldn’t find breakfast in the morning and the bar was only open a couple of hours one of the three nights we stayed. Would not recommend this location for future stays.

We enjoyed the historic ambience of this hotel. It also has a spooky history, if you do a little research. Several amenities were closed because they're only open Thurs-Sun, so we didnt get to explore the place fully. We had a comfortable night, but the breakfast was very disappointing. A fridge with frozen options that needed to be microwaved was not appealing in the morning.

Still worth a try.

This is a classic hotel in a town whose better days have passed. The lobby is spectacular. Location to old town is walkable. Room is clean and bed comfortable. Portraits of famous people who have stayed there are the best. Parking is free, although didn't have a car. And rates are ok. Other reviews that decry closed restaurant & limited bar hours are correct. The Wyndham Trademark doesn't mean much here, but don't let that distract you. The Eureka economy began downward spin when timber industry hit the skids years ago. Fishing industry also has been hit. The whole downtown is a bit dirty. I understand tourism is doing well, but of course is seasonal. But, if for some reason you're still going to Eureka, I recommend the Eureka Inn. Heck, Churchill drank in the bar! The other hotels in town have no soul.
