The hotel is in a prime location, right on the beach with breathtaking views. The property itself looks like someone gave up on it. It looks like the last renovations or update occurred in the 90s. The whole hotel is dated with a need of a good cleaning. The doors between rooms are so thin that I heard EVERYTHING happening in the next room’s restroom.

Ocean front view... Beautiful and the staff was friendly. Hotel smelled clean. Outside the rooms were loud probably because there is no carpet for sound barrier but the beds were comfy for an extra $50 my dog was welcome also

Check in was fast. I’ll give them that.The property is just kind of run down. But the biggest issue I have with this place is the noise. The door from the stairway into the hallway was so loud. It would slam and wake up the whole family. We maybe got two hours of sleep. Never staying here again.

Although the location is close to the beach the place is dirty smelly and staff are not courteous. Bathroom is dirty. Was trying to open window to get rid of the bad smell in the room and window would not open. Staff came and with difficulty were able to open it but there is no screen. So I get to pick bad smell vs bugs. DO NOT COME HERE. Pay a little extra and stay at a better place.

Not what it used to be

While it is on the beach, be prepared for the rundowned facility. The front staff asked me twice what service my service dog performed. Very rude to ask in front of others, and against the law. The pool was freezing, hot tub jets were broken, sauna did not get hot, and the entire area smelled like propane! Breakfast is not free, nor worth paying for. There was a gentleman who hung around the front desk, with his small yappy dog standing up on the check in counter. They also allowed a Boxer dog to roam around, both usually without leashes. Balcony is small and cramped, with a high railing making it difficult to see the beauty without ducking under the railing. I have stayed here 3 other times and sadly have watched it steadily decline. Will not be back again after this experience.

There was literally dog poop around the pool. Our sink was clogged. They don’t even have full size pillows. There was a homeless person building a wood lean-to house on the beach right outside our room. He kept yelling and screaming at a non existent person. Lots of profanity and such so my kids were scared to go outside on our vacation to the beach.

The hot tub was dirt and the jets were broken and the sauna was broken. I asked for help with this and was told "I'll contact someone" and no one got back to me. The hot tub and the sauna were the only reason I chose that hotel.

It is very important to know that if you book through Expedia breakfast is NOT included as stated. Also the price through Expedia was quite a bit higher. Next time I would go directly to the hotel. This place is a gem. It simply needs some upgrades and better cleaning of the pool area. They could also use new comforters on the bed. But it was quiet, and homey. They even had a pool table in the lobby. Views are beautiful.

A whole lot of extra!

Upon arrival the type of room I booked which was a double queen size room was switched without my knowledge to a one bed king room. When asking what happened they said they ran out of two bed queen rooms. They had others but it would be an additional charge. I told them this was ridiculous. I paid for room insurance so I figured if this didn't work I could contact them and hopefully they could help me figure out what to do at the last minute. Then all of the sudden when the clerk realized I wasn't going to pay for an upgrade they offered to contact the manager of the hotel to see if they would comp my upgrade but also said it would take a while. Me feeling like this was an attempt to make me want to leave reluctantly said okay. It took the clerk a matter of 5 minutes to talk to the manager and get the room compt. The whole check in was a mess and the clerk seemed really young. I stayed there anyway and was charged a deposit of $100 that I was not told about prior to booking. I paid that anyway. This is not the first time I have had an issue with this hotel. I love the rooms and the location but the staff are quite ridiculous and not very accommodating. Last time I stayed they charged me $100 for two towel that had hot Cheeto dust on them. Claiming it was blood. I had to fight tooth and nail to get my deposit back. Took them almost a month. i tried to give this hotel another change with their staff and I'm pretty fed up. Definitely wouldn't recommend!!

My biggest complaint will have to be that the room was not cleaned. Sheets were dirty, pillowcases were dirty. I requested for clean sheets, and it was hung on the door handle on the outside of the room. Dirty face towels from previous visitors were left on the shower curtain bar. We stayed two nights and room service did not come the first day to offer and clean the room; however, on the checkout day they were on the door at 8am!! Check out is 11am, we were up till 3:30 am, so we did not appreciate the wake-up knock at 8am. Property is beautifully located right by the ocean and light house plus pier to crab. That was the only plus.

Loved the view from our room. What we could see of it anyway. The windows were dirty. The floors were sticky. And the place could use some updating. Also wash the curtains in the hallways. Lots of noise echos through the hallways into the rooms. It did it’s purpose but I won’t stay again. Also the homeless people living on the beach in front of the hotel was a big turn off.
