Good budget friendly place

Good budget-friendly accommodations. The room was clean and spacious. It was also pretty quiet although there was some noise from the hallway and other rooms. Breakfast only had a few items, waffles, toast, cereal, oatmeal, and bananas. Several places to eat nearby, some homeless people in the area.

What you get for cheapest room in Arcata..

My room was within 20 ft of the McDonalds 24 hour drive thru….room was worn and a bit grubby. Stains in the tub like some had been marching with their boots. Made me want to take a shower AFTER taking a shower!

As with all Super 8s, it’s off a highway, but it did have some fast food restaurant across the parking lot. We had a king room. The room was huge and the bed was quite comfortable. It’s was all acceptable for one night. As with a lot of these hotels, they aren’t geared for couples. It is quite annoying not to have a nightstand with a lamp on BOTH sides of the bed. I had to bring a chair over so I could put my book, water, medicine and glasses beside me. Also, more than two towels would be helpful.

There were men standing around the back area drinking and smoking pot, the whole property is run down and musty. The room was clean, but very outdated fixtures and the bathroom was very small and so yucky we did not even feel like we could use the shower.

Needs carpeting in hallways you can hear people walking down the hallways normal but it sounded like they were stopping their feet. People just talking in the hallway it would Echo through the entire hall.

The hotel said Expedia wouldn’t release funds for our reservations after they booked it for the day after instead of the day we asked for. So we ended up not getting our room and no refund either, as they said you wouldn’t release the funds to them so they couldn’t give us a refund . I don’t feel like this is right considering it was not my fault for the dates being changed. Can I get a refund from Expedia?

It is near ocean and shops and restaurants. It would almost be perfect but the hot water heater broke and I was sandy and needing to take cold showers. The water heater was replaced during my stay, but it was just bad timing for me. The room has good amenities. Staff were nice. Breakfast with waffle maker was great. Expedia double charged me for the visit.

A lot of homeless and drug users walking the streets out front. Made us worry about our vehicle. The hotel, although remodeled, still felt like an old, dingy hotel. The host the two times we went to the office (check-in & 20 minutes later check-out) was gone doing something around the property. Not sure why Wyndham associates with this hotel. Glad I got rid of our Wyndham.
