This hotel is very old so it has its quirks…but it’s a wonderful place to stay! The staff are very nice and want your stay to be the best. I will definitely be back!

We have stayed there numerous times and have always loved it, still do, however this time our room was teaming with cockroaches, especially around and under the bathtub. I wanted to take a nice relaxing bath in the jetted tub, but had nightmares of turning it on and having roaches run out....yikes. Not good. May need to try somewhere else in the future. Such a shame because this has always been our very favorite place.

The basin hotel was so much fun. Learning about it. History was wonderful too. I participated in the paranormal investigation, which was amazing. Staff was wonderfully kind, helpful and always had a smile on their face.!!!!

If you love old hotels this is your place! Beautiful building with historic details preserved. If you’re looking for high end glamour the Basin Park has incredible service, luxurious sheets and is clean, but remember it’s a 120 year old building that has been lovingly brought back to life. Our stay was relaxing and we had a beautiful view of Basin Park & Spring Street. The shuttle was very convenient and we never had to wait more than a few minutes. We did the whisky tasting and our host was knowledgeable about the hotel history and made the experience fun. There was some noise from the street but overall the room was very quiet and we slept well.

Great stay

The location is everything if wanting to explore downtown. We enjoyed parking and not needing our car until we were ready to check out. Staff from our shuttle driver, front desk, and waitress were all excellent. This is obviously a historic hotel, if you are expecting modern luxuries this is not for you. There are thing's that could use some improvement and a deeper clean for sure. The water pressure leaves something to be desired for example. In the end it's all part of this hotels charm.

The basin restaurant did not offer many options Saturday night. We were placed by a loud individual and our food was dry and hard to eat. Hush puppies were stiff and the chicken florentine had too much spinach stuff on top for suck little pieces of chicken. We will come back to the hotel but not the restaurant.

Got to the hotel to ask about parking and they let us check in early. They Offer shuttle service which was great and convenient to get around places that may be further to walk to.

Historic hotel. some parts updated, some parts need work. Book the hotel because it was historic, won’t stay there, going for moders amenities.
